14 miles

Others: Yoda, a father and young daughter, two 20 something kids
We walked about 14 easy miles today. And I can’t really think of anything to report about the hike. Well, I guess we saw a female moose. That was pretty cool. We got to our camp site after walking through like 11 miles of knee high brush. Then we made camp and walked a mile up trail to the road to catch the Glacier bus to St Mary. We walked right by a lady who recognized us as through hikers and she offered to drive us. Ma Bell, Lizzy, Ben, and their mother. The three of them were visiting Ma Bell from Alaska. It was a really nice drive. Ma Bell had done a big portion of the PCT in 92. On the drive to St Mary, we saw a Grizzly, which was cool. Then we ate and got some food for the morning. On the way back we took the bus, which is free, just as it started to rain. We got to our stop, and looking out the door, there was marble sized hail. We asked the bus driver if we could stay on till he turned around and headed back. He said sure thing. Whew… so we got to see parts of the park we otherwise wouldn’t have. When we came back around, it had stopped raining, so we walked to our tents with only our legs getting wet from the trail. I’m thankful that God has kept us out of the worst of it on more than one occasion.
